What´s the solution?
In 2010, we developed our global strategy that defines our goals for twenty years. For the sake of development, more precise targets have been defined in four focus areas by 2020, one of them is water consumption.
Our primary goal is to reduce the amount of water during the production process and during the use of our products. We also focus on decreasing the amount of wastewater. Our goal is to reduce the amount of water used per tonne of product by 2020 by 30%.
We are trying to meet our water consumption expectations in several ways. We pay close attention to the development and application of water-saving production technologies and to the production of finished products that require less water in the making procession and during usage. Besides this, we also strive to use economical methods for water cooling and water heating systems.
Business connection
Increasing water efficiency and water saving is not only a direct benefit on the cost side. Effective production technologies enable successful and efficient products to be made using fewer resources, and there is a higher demand for them on the market because of their quality and impact.
Results
Our goal is to reduce the amount of water used per tonne of product by 2020 by 30%. At the end of 2018 this value was 24% less than in 2010.
Thanks to the new technology and components of BlondMe hair dye, 200,000 m3 of water was saved with less raw materials and packaging. New, more concentrated detergents also allow water saving: fewer fluids, less packaging and efficient production processes save 120 million liters of water per year. Water output per tonne of product decreased by 43% between 2008 and 2018.
