The replacement of a boiler could happen in the usual course of business only in a very justified case unless we open our borders wider and we see more responsibility as an important business partner in the area of environmental protection and reliability. What´s the solution?
The objective of the programme is to improve energy efficiency and operational reliability, and to reduce greenhouse gas emission and of other air pollutants and noise. Budapesti Erőmű Zrt achieved this by replacing the steam boiler of Újpest Power Plant with a newer and smaller one. Thanks to this, steam for the neighbouring SANOFI pharmaceutical factory will be produced in a much more economical and environmentally friendly way.
Besides the clear economic advantages – since the boiler is not only smaller but operates in a more efficient and environmentally friendly manner – it is also important to highlight its reliability which is very crucial from the customer’s point of view.
After realisation, the boiler will have some closely interrelated indicators: fuel consumption (GJ, m3), heat generation (GJ, in case of steam: t), efficiency (%), air pollution emissions (kg, t). These will help the work of Budapesti Erőmű Zrt and the follow-up of the efficiency and success of our programme.
