Solutions of the macro-sustainability challenges

Improve the inclusive employment of disadvantaged people according to their share of the population, especially that of young people and minorities through the whole value chain

Further targets:

What´s the solution?

Although some companies attach great importance on providing a flexible workplace for the employees, but still the total number of flexible positions is really low on the labour market. If someone is looking forward to employ a trustworthy, loyal and committed employee, appropriate consideration should be given to the options of flexible working-time. This is important especially for the generation Y and Z, and for the women with small children.

That is why the Randstad seeks to provide as many opportunities as possible for flexible working practices: home office, flexible work-time, part-time job.

We ensure that the colleagues have 1 or 2 days per week, when their duties can be fulfilled from home office. As the flexible working-time is based on trust, the possibility of home office is attached to the expiry of the probationary period. We also open the door to flexible working hours, the employees need to be at the office during the core hours, but before and after that they can freely manage their so-called flexi-time. The part-time jobs are not rare, especially among women with small children. This can mean 4 or 6 hours of working per day, but there also had been an example for working only 1 day per week.

Business connection

Those companies that provide flexible options for the employees, practice a new approach: placing emphasis more on the efficiency than the physical presence. The conditions are given, as with the improvement of technology the employees can maximally fulfil their duties out of the office. The flexible possibilities help maintaining a healthy work-life balance, hence the colleagues will be more motivated and score better. On the long term, this also contributes to the company’s success.

Results

The positive impacts are reflected in the employee commitment and loyalty, which affects the company’s efficiency.
