What´s the solution?

During designing Legrand’s products, we apply the ecodesign (Eco-design) approach.

Eco-design is a process, that designs or develops the product by taking the environmental impacts into account. This concept is based on the principle, that all products have environmental impacts at different stages of their life cycle. Eco-design is created to reduce these impacts, while maintaining the quality of the product.

Business connection

The Eco-design approach reduces the environmental impacts of products throughout the life cycle and can reduce the amount of the released greenhouse gas emissions, the amount of the generated hazardous waste and the depletion rate of natural resources.

Results

The new generation of Legrand EDM transformers reduce the unused energy inside the transformer, which reduced the environmental impacts by nearly 30% when compared to the products from the previous generations. This new design also reduced the noise generated by the transformer, thus could also be used to counteract noise pollution.
