40% of total energy use is related to buildings. We live, work and spend the majority of our lives in buildings. As a leading property developer, in case of our Category ‘A’ office buildings, we aim to use green technologies and materials in construction and facility management activities, and to ensure energy efficient building operation for our business partners. By integrating environmental and business targets, we focus on increasing energy efficiency and decreasing CO2 emissions during our projects; moreover, we can provide innovative working environments tailored to our customers’ needs. Our commitment to sustainability is well demonstrated by the fact that our buildings have been granted Green Certification; are classified in Category ‘A’ as per the effective decree on buildings’ energy performance (meaning they use 20-25% less energy than required in the relevant decrees), and we also consider social and economic impacts during their construction.

What´s the solution?

In case of our Category ‘A’ office buildings, we use green technologies and materials in construction and facility management activities, and furthermore, we ensure energy efficient building operation for our partners. In other words, we do not only attempt to minimise direct environmental impact prevalent in immediate environment, but we also look for ways to provide green solutions even after handing over the project to our customers and during their respective operations.

Accordingly, we integrate environmental and business targets in our projects, where innovation, improvement of energy efficiency and mitigation of CO2 emission are given primary importance. We are also conscious of the importance of developing people-oriented internal environments in addition to environmentally conscious considerations, as our buildings and office centres are not built without purpose, but are intended for real life use.

Our commitment to sustainability is well illustrated by the fact that our buildings have all been granted internationally recognised Green Certifications, and are classified in Category ‘A’ as per the effective decree on buildings’ energy performance. This means that the buildings use 20-25% less energy than required in the relevant decrees. Our property development projects located in Lőportár and Kassák Lajos utca can be referred to as green buildings amongst our domestic reference projects, where some of our green solutions are demonstrated spectacularly by the installation of green roofs, solar panels and green inner courts, however, in addition to energy efficiency, we also bear in mind the utilisation of rainwater and waste recycling during our development work.

Business connection

For us, business means providing sustainable solutions. Our mission is for our developments to be accepted as standard requirements in the property development and construction industries, and our environmentally conscious solutions to be made part of the ordinary course of business. We are determined to respond to new challenges with new innovations and developments, as we must adapt to new trends evoked by climate change, while we must reduce or mitigate the emissions being the source of such changes.

Results

During our development projects, more than one Category “A” office buildings have been constructed using less energy generated from fossil energy sources than conventional buildings, consuming energy in a more efficient manner, and as result, emitting less CO2. The quantification of our impacts would be too complex to demonstrate in a single indicator.
